My girls sleep in their swings during the day. Sometimes they get overtired and need to be rocked a bit so I just stick them in the swing and they are out in a min. Plus their cribs are upstairs and its a challenge to get them upstairs to nap with two of them.
SS - she usually naps on me. Whether I am wearing her or I just nursed her and she is on a pillow, laying up against me. These are usually the best spots for her. (Meaning, she can take a nap here and not keep waking up and getting all fussy.)
I voted swing in common room. That's where they usually nap. Recently we have tried napping in cribs but it's a process and hit or miss. They hate their cribs during the day but sleep in them at night like champs.

Hunter from day 2 has taken naps and bedtime in his crib.
DS has acid relux and milk protein allergy, and had torticollis, used to EP,
now we FF .
April siggy 3-6 month
Born 7lb, 15oz, 21-1/4, 2 mo - 12lbs, 14oz. 25",
3mo - 14lb, 4oz 26in , 4 mo - 16lb, 1oz, 26 3/4 in, 5 mo 18 lb, 4oz 27-3/4 in, 6 mo 28 3/4 in 19lb, 14oz
DD has always napped in her bouncer. A couple of weeks ago I started putting the bouncer in her room because she's too distracted by me doing things now. I haven't tried to put her in her crib for naps in awhile. I may start to try, but I work from home on Tues. and Thurs. and I really need her to nap well so I can get some work done.

This. And like someone else said, she sleeps great in her crib at night, but will only play in it during the day. She naps on me (or whoever is watching her) or in the carseat if we're out.

This exactly.
Sometimes she will let me put her down in our bed to sleep, but never ever will she nap in the swing, crib, boncer, etc. Though she did start daycare this week and she naps in the crib for them. Go figure.
He naps in the crib most of the time, but mon, wed, fri, he ends up taking his morning nap in the car seat because it is around the time I take DD to preschool. He naps much better in the crib though.
Our bed, PnP, swing, couch, one of our laps....where ever it happens! We plan on putting her in the crib more often...hopefully that actually happens LOL
DD has been sleeping in her car seat for the past few weeks, but I just started transitioning her into sleeping in her crib. It was a battle at first but she fell asleep about 20 mins later and slept for 1.5 hours.
SS - crib, swing, pack n play, my lap, whatever works!
If only.
I am struggling because I need to give my dad specific instructions on how DD needs to nap.
I go off of feel -- when she's tired and where she can sleep.
So I need to come up with instructions and I'm not exactly sure what they are going to be.
Just give him the two best options. That's whath I did with my MIL. He sleeps in the crib, but if you're having a hard time putting him down or have things to do, he will go down pretty well in the swing too. I also made the point that the fact that he sleeps is ultimately more important than WHERE he sleeps. But I gave her our most effective routines and figured after some trial and error she'd find her own methods too...which has happened.

This. DS usually wakes when I try laying him down in his crib, so swing in his bedroom it is!

SS....Depends...If we are downstairs I will put him down in his pack n play..
If we are upstairs I will put him down in his crib...
If we are out running errands, stroller/carseat...

Usually my arms. *sigh* or the swing. She hasn't started napping in the crib yet, and right now she is asleep in her carseat because we just got home.
This is good advice -- much appreciate!
