Birth Certificate Question

I know they told me in the hospital, but do I get a copy of the birth certificate from the town we live in or the town she was born in? Thanks!

    On the back of the form my doc gave me to fill our it says:

    "A copy of the birth certificate will not be sent automatically to your home.  If you wish to purchase a certified copy of your child's birth certificate, you may ocntact the city or town clerk where this hospital is located 10 days after the birth, or you may contact the State Registry of Vital Records and Statistics or your residence city/town clerk 90 days after the birth."

    The birth certificate is on record in the town of your residence and can be purchased for $10-$15 - they will not send a copy to you.

    If you need it immediately you get it from the town where you gave birth. If it has been a month or more, then you may as well pick it up from the town that you live in.
