Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Burst out crying at work

Awesome, not even a few days into a working mom and burst out crying at work. I posted about cold vs RSV and because the cough seemed to be getting more frequent and his age, and that its been 3 days- they want me to bring him in.

So i went to tell my boss and burst out crying in her office.

Awesome.

I am a worrier and now I am envisioning him having something nasty and having to go to the hospital.

 Stupid daycare.

Re: Burst out crying at work

  • (((HUGS)))  I can't even imagine having to deal with a sick LO the first week back at work.  Crying in this situation is totally understandable.  Hang in there and hopefully you will feel a little better after visiting Alex's pedi.

  • Ugh...those first few weeks. I would not go back. My LO is also in daycare and he was sick a good two months straight (including RSV and bronchiolitis). The good news, is that he is currently healthy and has been for about a month now (knock on wood). Hang in there. I do hope it isn't RSV - because RSV sucks. But, if it is RSV, he'll get through it with your care. It just takes time to go away. We were lucky in that our LO didn't need to be hospitalized or anything. But, it took over a month to go away.
  • I'm just really bummed and worried, this is what I dreaded about daycare... the first week went so well and we were finally just starting to have fun with him and things were getting easier, he was STTN too, eating really well, etc.

I am so not well equipped to be a mommy. Sad

You're totally well equipped to be a mommy:) It just sucks (the sick thing and the going back to work thing...and those things happening at the same time). You will get through it and so will LO...trust me. It is always hard to know what is going on sometimes. In our case, when our sleeping through the night happy baby first went to daycare (and when I went back to work), he hit the 4 month wakeful thing, then started teething...and was sick for a couple months. I had no idea what was bothering him on any given night.  Not to mention, I was completely sleep deprived. I'm still sleep deprived, but things have gotten tons better. And, my LO is super happy at daycare. It all falls into place over time and with routine, and if it doesn't, you make it fall into place. That doesn't mean it is easy, though. Hang in there, mama!

Yeah he was happy and STTN and now this (and probably the 3 month spurt too) and probably when he gets better he'll be 4 months old... and then teething. Oy vey.

I just keep worrying that if we had more success (or tried harder) to get the snot out of his nose, that he would not be dealing with a cough too. Or that MIL's stuffy nose on Sunday didn't make it worse.

  • If you weren't a worrier you wouldn't be a mommy : )

I've been back to work for 5 months and there are days I would love to tell my boss, that today working just isn't going to work for me and then go home and play with my son.

I hope he gets better soon. He's a cutie

    True that.

    Thank you!
