We were aware of this, as we can sometimes see our down the street neighbor's baby's crib on a different channel, but I hadn't really thought about it until the guy at the end said that they probably know if you are gone if the baby is not in the crib at night. Of course, this may not be the case, if they happen to be sleeping with you or you just have them out of hte crib in the middle of the night if they woke up, but i could see this being an additional "sign" of the family not being there if they are checking at say, 2am.
Scary stuff. I knew about it, too, but unfortunately we have to take the risk since LO's room is upstairs and we wouldn't hear her without one. People suck to use video monitors to take advantage.
They have monitors now that are over the 2.4mhz which was what wa in the report i believe. The one DH and I are looking at is something like 5.7. Of course it's also way pricey compared to the the others.

Re: Good word to the wise about video monitors
This is mostly true for analog monitors.
Use a digital one and you shouldn't have this issue.
