For any of you ladies who have already delivered at St. Joe's, can you give me some specifics about what it was like? I want to be able to move around and deliver in whatever position happens to feel best at the time; I'm also using a midwife. Is St. Joe's flexible with things like that? I hate having to choose a hospital and not know anything about it!!

I don't have personal experience there, but here is a topic from a few days/week ago: https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/48822184/ShowThread.aspx#48822184
(I also just posted in that thread, so if you have posts sorted by last post date, it should now be at the top of the page.)
We've had a couple threads in the past few months about SJMC - here's one that I replied in (hence, it's easily found b/c it's in my posts
).

I have worked with a number of women who have delivered there and have had great experiences. I think it is important to have had a childbirth class which can help with advantageous position changes and when to go to the hospital vs when to stay home ;-) Having a doula is also helpful with those creative, in-hospital position changes, recommendations, and prolonging the laboring at home aspect. That being said, I was just at a birth in SJH and it was well supported by the staff and went off without a hitch! Feel free to PM me with any questions.
Good Luck!
