This board was a huge resource for me throughout my pregnancy--thank you! I mostly lurked but did some posting while on bed rest over the last several months. I've been meaning to come back and share our story so here it is!
Samuel and Silas were born in early January at 33wk, 2d! They were 4lb, 14 oz and 4lb, 13 oz. They arrived after I had been on hospital bed rest for one day shy of 12 weeks! I spent most of that time on the terbutaline pump, but the weekend before delivery I had a "mag wash" since the terb was losing its effectiveness. One day after going back on the terb, my water broke and the contractions couldn't be held back by the medication any more.
The twins weren't handling the contractions well after 6 hours of labor and I hadn't progressed very far, so we decided to proceed with a C-Section. I got to see them briefly and then they were whisked off to the NICU where they spent the next 4 weeks. They didn't have any major problems -- mostly just immaturity and coordination suck/swallow/breathe issues.
They were finally released today!! I've never been happier. A big thanks to everyone on here!!
Oh and if anyone can give me step-by-step instructions on how to update my signature, I will be eternally grateful!!! I don't know if it's my browser or what, but I simply can't figure out how to change it.
Re: My boys are here (33wk)! And released from NICU today!
oh wow- congrats!!!! I'm so happy you are all OK and everyone is home! Love their names!
i have no idea how to change a siggy on the bump- i do it on the nest and it transfers over. on the nest i click on the "my nest" thing upper left - and then do the update - and the field for siggy is right there.
Congrats! Great weights for 33 weeks. DD#1 is a 33 weeker, but she was only 2lbs. 15oz. You would never know she was premature today.
Have fun having them home.
Katie: 1/16/08 2lbs. 15oz.
Abby & Emily: 12/31/10 6lbs. 2oz. & 5lbs. 7oz.
Congratulations on your sweet boys! I love their names.
