"my little man"?

Ok mommies of boys: I've noticed several of my friends call their sons "my little man" on a pretty regular basis, in place of their name. Raise your hand if you do too. Just curious to see if it's as common as I think it might be.

No, not odd- I just feel like I hear it ALL the time and wondered if I'm super tuned-in or something now that I've noticed it? Or do a lot of people say it?

And actually, I do know someone who calls her son "my little man" so much that I don't think I've ever actually heard her use his real name. Ever.

I guess I do find it kind of odd, but just in this one person's case... we have all kinds of nicknames for our DD too, but I just know this one person who I swear has NEVER called her DS by name. It's ALWAYS "my little man". And now that I'm tuned in to her doing it, I feel like I'm hearing it all the time. I was just wondering if a lot of people do it.

I call him Mommy's Little Man. I actually call him K more than anything. But we do use his first name, along with other nicknames.

Oh really? Well I've never watched that show...I'm sure its from a Dr. Seuss book its driving me crazy trying to remember!

I call my DS my little man. He does look like a little man though so it is fitting lol. I usually call him by his name though.

I call him "my little man". I also call him Lovebug, munchkin, stinker, Stinky Face (after the book), little love and others. Most of the time I just use his name though. We chose Isaac instead of those names for a reason.

You really, really need to sit down sometime and watch I Love Lucy. Especially the chocolate factory episode. Good comedy has no expiration date.
