This really means nothing, right? With IVF you obviously know exactly when your baby is due, but mine is measuring 1week2days ahead as of today's MFM appointment. I'm thinking this truly means nothing, but thought I'd ask you ladies. Ute is measuring exactly as it should.
Now I don't feel so bad about not gaining much weight. I'm up 12 lbs and baby weighs 4lb 7 oz. Mdluv- that comment is just for you in regards to your post yesterday No reason to feel bad lady
Re: Talk to me about "measuring ahead"
They use 3 measurements to estimate size. Head circumference, belly circ, and thigh bone length.
My 1st measured several weeks ahead my whole PG. He had a big head and long legs. That's all it meant for me! He was not 9lbs+ as predicted. He was 7lbs 6oz with a big head and long legs.
I don't think it really means much. My son is measuring a little over a week ahead and my uterus is measuring 5 weeks ahead. But all babies are different sizes when born so it makes sense that they should measure differently in utero too, kwim?
I wish I had your weight issues! I think I am up 20 lbs already!
Yea, I didn't think it meant anything, but I figured since I only have 8 weeks left, I'd put more thought into it. We'll see what the doc says next week
While my OB has never measured me (with the tape measurer) as more than a couple of weeks ahead, I have consistently measured between 3-4 weeks ahead at every u/s (since 12w NT scan) at the peri's office.
OB has not been concerned about size until this last Friday (35w for me) when he basically said, OK, we can now tell this is a pattern and he's going to be a big baby. Until then he was pretty dismissive saying that you never know when you get a "growth spurt," u/s can be off and that "one or two" measurements aren't very indicative of anything to be concerned about.
So if your doc's not concerned I wouldn't be. At this stage, measuring 9 days ahead is probably a growth spurt!
I've been wondering about this too because at my OB appointment last week, the dr said my fundal height was measuring ahead a few weeks. I thought it was maybe just because I was eating a lot and I hoped it didn't mean that the baby would be early, because my showers are really late and we are not ready at all.
