Pack and Play sheet

My little guy has outgrown the newborn napper on his Graco Pack and Play.  I think I'm ready to have him nap in the bassinett part.  Did anyone get a sheet for theirs?  Does anyone use it without a sheet?   I guess it doesn't make sense to me to use a sheet because then the pattern isn't visible. Most sheets are just solid.

    I got a patterned Carters brand sheet. It's probably not completely necessary to have a sheet but my little guy spits up sometimes so I didn't want to risk having stains on the actual mattress.

    We used the quilted Carter's pack n play sheet to make it a little more comfy.  She got fussy when we used the thinner sheets.

    I use a sheet and also have a waterproof pad underneath it. It would smell and be stained after awhile from spit-up, wet-throughs etc.
