IVF update (Operation Ovarian Blitzkrieg)

OK, so I've been on the MAXIMUM DOSE (sorry about the screaming, but the max dose requires ALL CAPS), of Follistim in the morning and 150iu of Menopur in the evenings. I had my first monitoring appointment yesterday, blood work only, and what did it show?
That my E2 dropped. In half. WTF?
Someone told me that it's to be expected in an estrogen priming protocol like mine, and that it should start going up by my next monitoring appointment tomorrow (day 5 of stims). So we'll see. My nurse just said "This happens sometimes. It will probably start to go up." All I can say is that it better!

And MAXIMUM DOSAGE!!!!!!!!! I still want to know what happens if it is exceeded. Maybe you'd need John Travolta to stab you in the heart with a giant shot of adrenaline. Hey! Maybe that would wake the girls up!
It's such a hilarious joke around our house at this point. Sean is all "do you want the MAXIMUM DOSAGE? Because that's what you're getting, baby, you're getting the MAXIMUM DOSAGE! PREPARE FOR THE MAXIMUM DOSAGE!!!"
Yeah, we might have lost what was left of our minds.
Anyway, I've been pep talking the ladies, so we'll see if they comply. If not? I don't know what our RE will do. Cancel the cycle? But then what? If I don't respond to the MAXIMUM dosage will they have to start me on elephant hormones? Tell me to go run over a crack whore and steal her baby? No idea.

This is my first IVF cycle, so I am really not sure about the E2 levels, but I don't blame you for being confused. I wonder if the same will happen for me when I start? Hmm..
