Hey ladies,
So my DH accidently threw away my list of questions for the doctor and the appt is today! I have to do the GD test and know a few things I should be asking about...Here is my question to you. At your 29-30 week appt what did you ask the doc?
Thanks for the help in joggin my dead pregnancy brain!
Re: Questions for the doc...
I just had my 28 week appt last week and it was pretty routine. I didn't have any questions for her.
Is there anything you're particular concerned about at this point?
Normally when I go I have maybe 2-3 questions max, but for my appt on Wednesday I have a list as long as my arm. I've been doing a lot of reading on childbirth since my last appt so most of my questions are geared toward that:
- I'm going to have the midwife review my birth plan (basically a short list of bullet points of preferences) and ask her about a couple of things on it.
- Going to ask her to go through the process of what typically happens from when I arrive at hospital to having baby, including the c-section process (I realize this is something a childbirth class can answer but I want to hear it directly from my practice)
- What are the different birthing philosophies of the 4 doctors/midwives in my practice? I could end up with any of them. I know one or two already but, again, I want to hear it from this person.
- I am really curious to know if it is still common practice to pull on baby's head/twist his head to try to rotate him as he's coming out. A lot of damage can be inflicted this way and my understanding is that it's entirely unnecessary to pull baby out by the head; the person delivering can simply wait an extra minute or two until he's pushed out a bit more before grabbing him. If he needs to be repositioned, mom can change positions.
