I'm in the market for a new humidifier for DD's room. I want something that doesn't have a filter that has to be replaced. I also want something that's easy to clean because I've been making an effort to thoroughly clean the humidifier each week. I also want one that has a switch on the unit to turn it on and off (versus having to plug it in and un-plug it each time).
I recently got this one from Bed Bath and Beyond for our room and I've been pretty happy with it. But, I'm just wondering if there are better options out there.
Any favorites?
ETA: Anyone have the Crane drop-shaped humidifier? This one seems to get good reviews.
Re: Favorite no filter and easy-to-clean humidifier?
We have this one from Walgreens. We got it because several friends of mine have this for their kids and it doesn't have a filter. There is an on/off switch and you can also adjust the amount of mist coming out.

We have the Vick's Warm Mist and have been very happy with it. I know some people are leery of the warm ones, but C needs a humidifier (we have super drying gas heat) and the cool mist one turned his room in to an icebox. So, rather than jacking up our heat 10 degrees or adding a whole separate appliance (heater) to his room, we went with this. It has a dial that goes from off to Level 1 to Level 2. On Level 1 we get two nights worth out of a full tank of water.
ETA - I *think* it's pretty easy to clean. At least it sounds like it - I honestly haven't cleaned it and it continues to work fine . . .
We just got a new humidifier for our LOs room, and went with the animal shaped Crane model:

It works great, has an on/off switch, you can adjust amount of mist coming out, and NO FILTER. We previously had a Graco one which was a money pit because the filter needed replacing about every 2 weeks, and they were almost $10 each. When it broke, we went with this model, and are so much happier. It just needs to be cleaned with a mild bleach solution... no big deal. And, it's super cute, too!
Thanks ladies for the recommendations. I'll check those out.
vml14 - I agree about the filters. We actually had another humidifier but the filters were about $8 each after I paid for shipping. I decided to just give the humidifier away on Freecycle and buy a new one because I'm tired of paying for filters. Also, they get so gross so fast. I'd rather having something that I can just clean with vinegar or bleach weekly.
We have the frog version. We have been happy with it although we haven't used it lately because DH has been cleaning it and he wanted a break I guess.
The only negative about it is it needs to be elevated at least 2 feet off the ground but I'm just wondering if all humidifiers need to be elevated. (My mom always put mine on the floor on a towel when I was in elementary school). We repurposed an old night stand for this task and no issues.
I wonder if that's because it's a cool mist and not a warm mist? The one we have right now is a warm mist so I'm wondering if that's the difference. That's funny about your memory of having a towel in front of it when you were a kid. I have that exact same memory.
