repost (kinda)- Rec your humidifier?

I mentioned this in a post about stuffy noses over the weekend, but thought I would cast my line again.

I bought a Vicks Cool Mist humidifier just to have one as DS has a cold but it's reviews stink and to be honest I am not sure it's doing much in the room.  I can't seem to find a humidifier that gets great reviews (they all have like 10 great  reviews and 10 horrible ones) that is not $80.

What do you use or recommend?

    We have the Vicks warm mist humidifier and it works like a dream.  It adds the perfect amount of moisture and LO can breathe at night when she's all stuffed up.

    I just bought the Vicks cool mist humidifier.. and used it last night for the first time.

    I think it works really well. When he's congested he doesn't sleep through the night and last night he did!

    I have the Crane cool mist elephant one.  They come in a penguin, frog, elephant, cow, panda, dog, dragon, leopard, tiger, duck, pig, etc and a colored "droplet" (which is slightly more).  It got awesome reviews.  You can get it on Bed Bath and Beyond's website or Target has them in the store, which is where I got mine.  It is silent and works amazing.

    I've heard that.... I guess one review that said it leaves white dust everywhere and another one caught on fire (which of course is the risk with anything) scared me. This is what i am leaning towards.
