Contractions started at 3am on Saturday morning. Progressed from 10 minutes apart to 5-6 minutes apart by the time we left for the hospital at 6pm. Got to the hospital, had dilated to 2-3 cm and 70% effaced (from Wednesday were I was not dilated at all) and they had me walk for an hour. Was checked, and progressed to 90% effacement and almost 4 cm with contractions around 2-3 minutes apart and was checked in.
Spent 12 hours at the hospital with contractions getting up to 1.5 minutes apart, and very painful, but stalled out at 4 cm and cervix remained too high. Ended up getting discharged at 5:30 am, came home cranky, tired and starving, and crashed immediately.
What irritates me a little is that they wouldn't give me Pitocin or break my water, even though I am due to be induced this upcoming week because of the baby's size. The reasoning was because its a weekend, they were busy with low staff, and don't like to induce on weekends. WTF? So now I'm exhausted, sore and cranky. Ugh.
Re: 25 hours of labor and no baby...
It's the contractions minus the endorphin/energy rush of having a baby at the end of it
Try to look on the bright side- adding interventions just increases your risks for complications.. guess your body wasn't quite ready so hopefully you can get some rest and food and start up again really soon!
But I can see being totally bummed/exhausted..
