Organic Milk

Does it smell weird?  I never smelled it when we first opened the carton, so I don't have anything to compare.  It is well within it's expiration window, and M has drank about half of the gallon.  Today I smelled it for some reason, and it just doesn't seem right to me.  Miller has also thrown up twice today, and he never does that. He is in good spirits, so other than the puking he seems totally fine.

I think I will go buy a new one and see if it smells wonky too.  Maybe I'm just paranoid.

    I've never noticed a difference in smell between organic and other milk - usually I have a pretty developed sense of smell!

    I've had spoiled milk before that was within the exp date.  You never know if someone changed their mind at checkout & then it sat around there for hours. That may very well be why he is throwing up.

    There shouldn't be a different smell - def toss and buy fresh. Perhaps something happened during transport that caused it to spoil before the date?

    Yeah, I vote toss it.  When you get the new one, give it a good sniff just to make sure.  :)

    A lot of organic milk is ultra-pasteurized, so the expiration date is sometimes a ways off, but you should use the milk within 7 days of opening the carton.  It shouldn't smell any different, and personally, I think it tastes better than the non-organic stuff.

    If it smells wierd, then toss it,and go buy another. 

    BTW, I always knew I was PG when the milk smelled bad within dating......Wink

    Eeek.  No, it shouldn't smell.  On the contrary, organic milk should last awhile with extended expiration dates so something must be off here.I hope that's not why he's throwing up, either :(.  Poor guy.  Hope you can get some fresh milk asap!
