So far the front runner for us is Cora. Sisters are Julia Rae and Emma Grace. Julia's mn was named after my side of family. Emma's mn was named after a loss we had, and so ideally I'd like to name this one honoring my husband's side of the family.
The names we're considering are:
Cora Jamison (husband's middle name is James, and this is our last child, otherwise would've used it for a boy's mn)
Cora Isabelle ( I love the name Isabelle, but don't like it anymore for a first name. And it's got a great meaning " God is my oath".)
Any other ideas? I like it makes sense for the mn to be more classic vs trendy (example, I like Cora McKenzie but my husband doesn't, thinks it's a trendy name... so I see that point).
There aren't really any great names on his side of the family (nancy, virginia, marge).
Thanks!
Re: Middle name for Cora?
I love the meaning behind Jameson----why on earth would you spell it with an i? Are there people out there whose LNs are spelled with an i? Because I've only encountered Jamesons IRL. Besides, YH's name is James, not Jamis, right?
Honestly, I'd just do Cora James. It's simple, clean, and sounds much prettier.
I really love the ring of Cora Isabelle.

The feminine form of James is Jamesina, if you're brave enough to use it.

Agreed!! Very cute!
You might poll family members on his side about *their* middle names, maybe you'd get an idea there?
That being said, what about something simple like Jane? It is similar enough to James, kwim?
Love the name Cora by the way!

I agree also!
Cora James is nice enough, though I wonder if there is another name that could honor your husband's family.
If you are looking for more suggestions, I like Cora Josephine.

Why not find a feminine version of James? Cora Jacqueline, Cora Jacomina and Cora Jamesina are infinitely more appealing to me than Jamison. I much prefer Isabelle to Jamison and McKenzie (both are completely masculine names to me and I don't like tham at all on a girl).
I think Virginia is lovely, actually. Or maybe Cora Margaret/ Cora Margaux?
Cora is a great first name, by the way!
