38+ weeks and baby is now breech + chiro visit

I had a feeling that he was.  The OB confirmed my suspicions today.  She said she can try to turn him if I want her to.  She gave me the option of Monday or Thursday.  She also suggested moxibustion.  That was a little surprising.  I had just heard of it the other day.  I can also just wait it out...she didn't really say how long but I only have a little less than two weeks until my EDD.

I went to the chiro this week, but she wouldn't do Webster until after I knew for sure he was breech.  Now that we know, I have another appt next week to try it.

I am a bit depressed about it.  There's no way of knowing if/when he will turn.  I am still at a 1+ and really high.  Not surprising since there isn't a little head putting pressure that direction anymore...I just get a few good kicks down low every now and again.  Sigh.  My babies just don't go for proper positioning.

  • Is this not the first time you've had a breech baby? I just gathered this from the last sentence you wrote...

    Hope everything works out!

  • DD was head down, but posterior.  I asked the OB today if she thinks my pelvis is just a weird shape that my babies can't figure out.  She was kind and said it is most likely not...my kids are just stinkers.  Something along those lines.
  • You can also check out spinningbabies.com. Several people I know from the boards have had success using these techniques. Good luck!

  • I seem to be in the same boat, though I'm only at 35 weeks.  This is my second pregnancy (a boy)  and this one also appears to be breech.  I found out that my first child (a girl) was breech at 40 weeks, so I feel a little more ahead of the game this time around, but also frustrated that I might have to go through the whole thing again.  I did moxibustion last time with no real affect but I was also at 40 weeks with not a whole lot of space for her to turn around.  I ended up having the dr trying to turn her.  It was successful except that she was then in brow presentation and I ended up having a csection anyway.  I'm hoping that this time I can use moxibustion or the webster approach, plus exercizes, to get him to turn.  Good luck!
  • Good luck! Webster did work for me. About 12 hours after I had it done I felt baby do a giant sumersault - I was on the phone with someone telling them I didn't think it had worked and then, shazaam! Stick out tongue
