We want to get my DS a computer for his birthday next Sunday. We don't want a really expensive one, but a decent one. He loves to research tornadoes, watch movies and we would really like to get him some sort of Sim City game. If anyone has any suggestions that would be wonderful! TIA
Re: What kind of computer to get for an 11 yo???
My kids both have a HP(Hewlett Packard), we purchased it off of Newegg.com. If your son likes to play video games on the computer make sure you get a video card that will accomodate the games.

This is what I am getting for my daughter. It's a kid-friendly PC designed by Toshiba. It's called the FirstSpark PC. It has a wipeable keyboard, preloaded with an internet filtering service for 1 year, and a kid-friendly internet browser. I know you don't want to spend a lot money, but, this laptop is worth a look.
