He's got a cold and a productive cough and the doctor said if he has general anesthesia with a cold he could wind up in the ICU so we are postponing it a week or two...my question is, should I keep him out of daycare until his surgery? I know that doesn't eliminate his germ exposure but it would reduce it especially during the winter when it's cold/flu season. We don't have a babysitter but between me, DH and friends we could probably work it out. WWYD?
Re: Simon sick, surgery postponed...and a question
Hope your little guy feels better soon. If it was me and I could make it work, I would keep him out of daycare.
BTW, you are on my prayer list for a successful surgery and a quick smooth recovery.
I hope Simon feels better soon! If you are able to keep him out of daycare it might help. The less germs he's around the better, right? T&P's still coming your way for a quick recovery and a smooth surgery.
Oh no! I'm so sorry.
And I'd probably er on the side of caution and keep him out of DC.

Argh. Margaux is sick, too, she has a fever.
I'd try to keep him clear, especially if it's just for a little while. I hope he feels better soon!

Ditto to all the previous opinions (especially this time of year - things are just flying around in there!).
I hope Simon feels better soon!
I agree w/PPs and would try to keep Simon home if you can swing it.
I know you were worried about the very early, long drive to the hospital with a hungry baby, I was wondering if you could drive to the area the day before and get a hotel so you can sleep in a little and let him run around or play w/him to keep him distracted if he gets hungry? Or would trying to stay at a hotel be a disaster?
I thought about that but he sleeps poorly any place other than his crib so I'd rather have him get a good night's sleep before surgery. And we could probably speed up the drive a little since there's no traffic that early in the morning and it's all freeway.
