Babies on the Brain

Well this cycle is a bust...

I called my insurance company for the 4th time now to just re-confirm that the maternity that was suppose to be added in April was finally processed. Two weeks ago they said yes they applied it as of 10/01/2008, today she said no. Not so much. Now, she said, "oh ma'am, it seems we have it here and ready, I don't know why it wasn't processed, let me do that now..." Awesome. Now it won't go on the policy until 11/01/2008 and we can't get pregnant before 12/01/2008. I was so p!ssed. Not only do we have to either stop TTC until December or chance getting pregnant without insurance (

  • If this was their mistake, then why don't you ask a manager to correct the dates?  They may just ask you to retro-pay for the coverage.

It's at least worth a phone call.  Sorry.  Sad

  • I know, I asked her why she couldn't fix it. She obviously had the dates of the phone calls and the date they received the form. The problem is we paid for the next cycle, which was to include the maternity opition, and they hadn't processed it yet. So apparently she won't make it active until the next cycle, which is 11/01/2008 and there is a 30 day waiting period. Maybe I'll quit my job and get on Medicare... HEY! But the all knowing FF says I may be ovulating the first week in December so maybe we can try right away? Ya? Ya? :/
  • that sucks!  i'm sorry.  i agree with all the other posts. also, are you a high risk person?  have you been pg before?  because if all is normal the dr doesn't usually need to see you for the first 8-10 weeks anyway.

anywho, hope you can get it all straightened out.

Texas, no I'm not high risk and we are trying for our 1st so I see what you are saying. They said it has to be "Must be active for 30 days before conception as defined by a medical professional." So I'm thinking that even though I don't need to use it (hopefully) for a while, they won't cover any of the pregnancy - or the delivery.
  • ohhh, that makes sense.  damn, that's a stupid rule.  LOL.  hope it works out.
