If you go to CW Care in R'ville/Silver Spring...
I go to CW Care on Shady Grove Rd. They also have a practice in Silver Spring and have priviledges at both Shady Grove and Holy Cross. We want to deliver at SGH b/c it is closer to our house and the mother/baby unit is newer and a little nicer. But here is my question - what determines which hospital you ultimately end up at when you go into labor? I'm asking b/c with DS, i went into labor at 3am and 32 weeks. The OB on call that night said go to HC. We didn't argue or ask questions since we were freaking out and not in the mood to question the doctor. This pregnancy, I had some contractions at 34 weeks. The OB on call that night said to also go to HC. So when do I get to go to Shady Grove? Anyone know how they determine this?

I have no idea, but I'd ask. Is this the other office of Drs Band, Sine, Resta, etc? Because if so, their online bios all state they have privileges at HC and are no longer performing OB procedures at Shady Grove. I know sometimes (like every few weekends and around holidays) they share on call duties with another practice... so maybe that is an instance where you'd be sent to SG if the on call doc had priv. there.
I use the Georgia Ave office and delivered at HC (like I wanted) but I live 5 minutes away so Shady Grove was never an option for us. FWIW, I had a great experience at HC.
