Parenting after 35

I think that if they aren't hearing Sydney's murmur, at least not easily, that's reassuring!  I hope that means it's closed on its own.  With Margaux, you can actually feel the murmur along with her heartbeat if you put your hand on her chest.  Our cardiologist says most babies do grow out of them, or have ones that are small enough to be asymptomatic, so they'd only need observation and maybe antibiotics when they go to the dentist.

  • Even though I know it's great news that they can't hear it, I can't help but think that they just aren't being thorough enough. I want them to listen for more than ten seconds. I saw it happening on the echocardiogram and it was very erratic. Sometimes it went thirty seconds without happening. Anyway...Its the worrier in me. And the mother. I know it's most likely closed, but I still worry because I can't SEE that it's all better. I know I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. We are mothers and we worry. That's our job.
