XP ...my crazy birth story PIP

First I wanted to thank all you ladies for listening to vent for last few mths about all my crazy drama Ive been having. And also for all the support that you have given me!

k i finally have some downtime to write about my last week.

Kellan Thomas was born at 10 am on Jan 28th by c-section at 37 weeks. I was having a lot of medical issues throughout this pregnancy so the OB did an amino the day before to check to see if his lungs were mature enough- and they were!

He weighed 8lbs 3oz and was 20.5 inches long! I cant imagine how big he would be if i made it to 40 weeks!

The c-section did not go to smoothly for me. The spinal didnt take like it was suppose to and the OB started to cut and I felt it - it hurt! They had to stop and give me more meds. Then my BP dropped so they were tilting the table. I was freaking out..and then i got sick to my stomach. The room started spinning and all the noises and voices in the room got distorted. I have to say I was pretty scared. All i remember is at one point my friend said to me they are in - and i just looked at her and told her to be quiet-lol.

The next I heard was Kellan crying! They rushed him to get suctioned after letting me kiss his forehead bc he couldnt breathe very well. He had too much fluid in him, so they had to work with him for a few mins. The whole time they were sewing me back up , I heard him crying. I kept asking whose baby that was crying. The Ob laughed at me, saying thats your baby. You are the only one in here. I was pretty out of it.

The took me back to my room, where i felt it took hours for them to bring my LO. When they brought him back, I asked if I could breastfeed him. The nurse helped me, he immediately knew what to do!! I couldnt believe how well he latched on!

After I fed him for a little while, the nurse came to get him to take him back to nursery so they could give him a bath and etc. At this time, one of the other nurses came in and ask if i would take a call from my mother in law. Umm - hold on what? I dont have a mother in law, I told them. They told the persons name, it was my EX's mother calling to get info on me. I told them no i would not speak to her bc i have a protective order against her son. And how did they even know i was at this hospital, let alone that i was delivering today? I didnt even know til the day before! And i didnt tell anyone except my family. I had changed hospitals and drs bc i didnt want this to happen!

So they ended having the police and security show up in my room. This all being about an hour after I had just delivered my beautiful baby boy!! I was shaking and I was scared. They ended up putting the entire nursery on lock down. My friend went outside to her car to go get something....and there is my ex. He flips her off (how mature) and gets in a car and leaves. The police said there was nothing we can do about him showing up at the hospital since the ppo doesnt say that.

However the had to move me to another room, and then posted pics of my ex at every nurses station and in the nursery for them to call the police if he was seen. I had to make a list of people that could come see the baby. The baby was given a fake name on his bassinet so only the staff and I knew who he was. I cant believe how this wonderful day in my life was turning.

Social Services stepped in a day later, they wanted to make sure that K was going to be safe for when were at home. My family had made arrangements for someone to be with me at all times while at home for the first week or two. Going home was even crazy. I had to be escorted by 2 security officers, a police officer and 3 nurses to leave the hospital. It was really embarrassing! People were starring at me like I had just robbed a bank. We made it home safe.

It has been a week since K arrived...and its been a crazy one. But i wouldnt change anything about him. I love him so much, I never had a love so deep for anyone in my entire life. Ive also never been so protective of anything in my life either. The social worker and I decided that it was in the best interest of myself and the baby not to put EX on the BC. Which i was planning on doing anyway.

The breast feeding is not going as well as I would like. By Mon I was so swollen that he couldnt latch at all. So Ive had to pump and feed him with a bottle. Im very disappointed about this. This morning however i did get him to latch for a few mins but we are still having to use a bottle. He gets so frustrated that I cant get him to latch long enough. But we are still trying!!

K is officially a week old today. He is a very peaceful and happy baby!! He is such a cuddlier ...and I love it!!

  • that's really scary that they found you somehow. Indifferent i'm glad to hear security at the hospital was beefed up though, that's just awesome. i hope things go smoothly for you from here on out, and that he gets the hint and just leaves you alone.

congrats on k, and don't feel bad about the bottle thing! that might be what works best for you. if nothing else, you're trying your hardest. :)
