Well, long story short, I scheduled a c-section. I had a lot of reasons, but mostly I was just d.o.n.e. I feel good about my decision at this point. A little part of me wishes I had gotten the VBAC, but I am also really glad that the choice was still mine.
FWIW- I was still not dilated at all, despite weeks of contractions. Whether or not that is relevant, who knows, but it makes me feel a little better about it. Not saying my body wouldn't have kicked into gear at some point, but I was so tired of prodromal labor.... with a 2 year old to take care of.
But onto the fun part- Ava was born 2/4 at 7:16 am, 8lbs 4.5oz, 20 inches. A whole pound bigger than DD1! She nursed great right after she was born, and then slept.... and slept... and finally nursed again almost 24 hours later. She was with me 100% of the time since she was born, until just now, when the pediatrician came to check her out in the nursery. I was not strapped down, I was very lucid, and they were very open to doing whatever I wanted to.

DD1 met Ava yesterday, and was in love. She ignored her some, and then was very concerned about her some. She will be back today, then I will be glad to be home tomorrow and having both my girls with me!
Re: My "story"
Congrats again! She is so sweet. I'm so happy you were able to make the decision that felt right for you.
I would love to hear more about her birth if you would like to share.
Congrats hun! she's gorgous.
There is no shame in a rcs. Whats important is that you got to make the choice.
Enjoy your girls and I hope you have a quick recovery.

Congrats again! You had a very supportive doc and it was YOUR choice, so that's awesome!
Did you have any sort of c/s birth plan in place or requests that you could suggest (if you get the chance of course)?
DS2 - Oct 2010 (my VBAC baby!)
Congrats! I think the biggest problem I had with my c/s was that the decision was taken from me. I think if it had been my choice I would have had an easier time with the recovery (both physically and emotionally).
Btw, she's such a cutie!!
Oh she is so precious! Congratulations!
I think it is great and empowering that you were able to make the choice that was right for you. I'm so glad that it went well!
Congratulations on your healthy baby girl and for a delivery that was YOUR choice.
Take care.
Congratulations! I am so glad that you ended up being at peace making such a tough decision.
Ava is beautiful and the picture of your 2 DDs together is amazing. Enjoy your new family!
