Fundal measurement question

Does fundal measurement correlate with weight? Is it merely the length of the baby? I got to thinking about it b/c my measurement has always been the same as the week I'm in, yet my dr says my baby is large (at 37 weeks he was 8.3 Lbs).

It's actually a measurement of the uterus.

From my experience, no. With DS I consistently measured 4 weeks behind at the end and he was born at 38.5 weeks weighing 8lbs. I'm measuring 2 weeks behind right now, and my Dr told me to expect a slightly larger baby than DS.
