I'm no help, my labor was preceded by cervadil, pitocin, and having my water broken for me
I'm curious what the other ladies will say. My mom said not showering, working all day and making plans for the weekend is the sure fire way to go into labor. It worked for her for both my sister and I!

With DS I was 4 days past due and my water broke in a Mexican restaurant right after we finished dinner (super embarrassing!). We had sex earlier that day... I definitely believe that helped!
With my son they were talking induction so I tried every trick out there. I was walking 3-4 miles a day (I wish the weather were nicer now b/c I really feel that helped with my delivery). I also had the eggplant parm, I got a pedicure the afternoon before my water broke in bed at midnightish, we had sex to try to help the cervix thin, etc).
The thing is- I delivered at 40w 4d. Could everything have helped labor? Maybe. Could I have gone into labor that day anyway? Maybe.

With DD1, I was swimming in the pool and realized I was contracting. Went to a huge mall and walked for about 3/4 hours. Then came home and walked some more outside, and then headed into the hospital.
This time, we will see! If I'm in labor now, then I can say that yesterday I ate a lot of spicy food, eggplant parm, and walked a lot. Today I had a pedicure, and walked a lot. Tuesday I had a great massage. So who's to say! And of course, it could just be that I am over 40 weeks pregnant
ETA- I also cleaned the whole house today, relocated a crap ton of baby stuff to more convenient location. Vacuumed couches, etc, etc.

I got sent to L&D from my docs office because she thought my water broke. they did their test and it had not broken. we live over an hour from the hospital and it was starting to snow. i was contracting a bit so they had me walk for two hours... i did, well practically jog and my water broke shortly after. although, i did have an internal done about 10 minutes before it broke and i think that had something to do with it too.

I was in bed. I had NO idea I'd be going into labor that day. DH and I attended a baby shower at his work and then I had bible study that night. I was definitely NOT trying to go into labor.
i did almost everything to bring on labor-sex,walking,acupuncture,evening primrose oil even had membranes stripped. The day before I worked all day then came home and did some pelvic floor release exercises from spinningbabies.com (the side lying one and the roll under the top of thighs) my water broke at 530am the next morning.
