Ladies, I'm struggling to find anything fun and interesting to do for a super bowl potluck this weekend. I didn't grow up in the U.S. and we're invited to a super bowl party. My husband is American and he always makes fun (but in a very sweet way) of my "european food" that I bring to parties. (He's loving the food now but in the beginning it was a struggle for him to eat anything that wasn't pasta or mexican). So this time I'd like something really American but fun, tasty and pretty! Please help me, I'm certain there are some really talented cooks out there in bumpiesphere. I'm up for anything from appetizers to desserts.
Re: Super Bowl Snack/Food Ideas?
I'm hosting a get-together (small, maybe 3-4 couples)
I'm having:
homemade cheddar chicken tenders
sausage stuffed mushrooms
vegetable tray
choc chip cookies
When I go somewhere else, I like to take something in a crock-pot or something that tastes good cold so I don't have to re-heat when I get there.

Sausage Dip (take to party in Crock Pot)

You could also do some kind of taco dip (I'm thinking 7 layer dip)
These wonton appetizers are good and have a very creative look to them

Looks amazing! Will absolutelydo this one with one of the dips mentioned above. You ladies are great.
Buffalo chicken dip is super easy and can be eaten with crackers, Tostitos or veggies:

Sounds like a great party! I think the dips sound tasty and fun to bring, thanks for sharing.
I'm making a cheeseball for Sunday-then i'm going to make it into a football shape! I make this cheeseball for almost every get-together (not in a football shape, though!) and it always disappears right away!
2 blocks of cream cheese, softened
2 or 3 packs of Budding Beef (I personally use 2, but DH likes the extra pack)
a few green onions
worcheshire (sp?) sauce
Chop up the beef and green onions (depends on preference, but I usually use like maybe 6 pieces or so, not the whole bunch). Mix the cream cheese, beef-be sure to save one package of beef (don't mix in) so that you can roll the ball in it afterwards , onions and a couple of dashes of worcheshire sauce together. Shape into a ball, then roll the ball in the extra beef-this part is optional but I think the beef on the outside looks really pretty and is tastier than nuts!
Have fun at your party!
this is one of my favorite things ever to eat. i could literally eat the whole thing myself. i always use extra ranch, hot sauce and cheddar cheese in mine, and i add some minced garlic too
BEST STUFF EVER!!! I always bring Tostitos and Celery
I made Buffalo Chicken dip last weekend just because! And it's so easy.
I also use shredded cheddar instead of mozz and sometimes mix the cream cheese in with the dip instead of spreading it on the bottom of the dish.
My friend also makes an easy, but yummy crab dip from cream cheese, canned crab and minced onions and then pours cocktail sauce on top. It's great with Ritz crackers.
I will also be making this on Sunday!
puppy chow (or muddy buddies)
spinach artichoke dip
chili/queso dip
cookies of some kind
taquitoes with sour cream or salsa to dip
Yep, bringing this to the potluck tomorrow! Gonna have to make it tonight so I can throughly gorge myself on it first. Also making Lemon Bars but I've never made these before (was craving them) so we'll see how these turn out....
