I am leaving for Florida (Disney!!!!!!) in a few minutes - all.by.myself. I've been waiting for this weekend for months/years and now that it is here, I miss the kids and I haven't even left yet (though they are in school!) It is 80 degrees there (vs 29 here) so I think I'll manage!
I'm not really sure what's going on. J is off work today and tomorrow and A visits her Dad this weekend. I bought a new book on Wednesday and will probably get started on it on Sunday. If I can get my hands on some veggie plants I will add to my garden too.
The highlight of my week was getting the call for the adoption. Although it didn't work out for us I'm happy knowing that our agency has us in mind. I'm also happy knowing that the little girl now has a forever family that is able to keep her in the environment she is used to.
ETA: I forgot this is Superbowl weekend! We are watching the game at the IL's house. J did squares this year, I'm hoping she wins something.
Highlight - K and I played backgammon via skype and I won! I rarely beat her. It really wasn't about winning though, it was about doing something 'normal' even while apart.
This weekend...well I think I have to follow OPSEC rules for military families...which makes me think I'll have to write most of this stuff on my blog....
But anyway....I think Jelly Bean and I are goi ng to have a quiet weekend. I need to do our bulk shopping and prepare paperwork for the tax man. :-p

Hightlight: DW and I had a really great night last night. Its not always easy to connect with 2 babies and a 4 year old, but it feels great to know that nothings been lost and we can always get back there.
I'm not sure we have any plans this weekend...A might go into work for a bit and I really should bring the dog to the groomers (can you picture the cluster F that will occur if I attempt that on my own with 3 small children? but i might just go for it - i like to test myself and see how much i can handle ). On sunday we'll go to church and probably visit my parents after. Wow, we are so interesting...ha!
Friday- We have an after school activity where the teachers shoot foul shots to raise money for the school. I can't shoot because I broke my foot doing it a few years ago. But I am going to try and bring E if her nap schedule cooperates. Tonight no other plans.
Sat Tutoring in the am and I think we are going to go to the mall. I need an outfit for a baby shower on Sunday and we need a place to let E walk free for a while. It of course is going to snow/rain/be crappy so Sat night we will be in chilling.
Sun I have a baby shower in the am and then I am sure we will watch the super bowl at night. Maybe we will go to brunch at some point. My parents are leaving for vacation so they will prob want to come over on Sunday. Perhaps S and I will go catch a movie or go out to lunch. Or if E is not sick this weekend and our primary nurse is working we may go into the nicu to visit our peeps!
Highlight this week was E running towards me when I got home from work the other day. It is so cute.

Tonight: DD's school performance is tonight. Each class from preschool thru kindergarten has a country that is their theme and will sing, dance, etc. and be in costume from that country. My parents and brother and SIL are coming. DD is BEYOND excited about tonight.
Tomorrow: DD has swim lessons in the morning. Then probably lunch with grandma and grandpa before they head to my brother's place.
Rest of the weekend...I dunno. We are back to rain here, so we may be spending quite a bit of time indoors.
Highlight of my week: I think DD's school event tonight will probably be the highlight. Yes, I am one of those teary moms who cries at the littlest things but she is just growing up so fast!
I am not sure what we will do, neither one of us knows yet if we have to work this weekend. My hope is that I can finish the laundry, C can set up our Baby Girl's bed (yes, Peanut is going to finally sleep in a horizontal position), we can do some much-needed grocery shopping, and we watch the Super Bowl together.
Unfortunately, the Super Bowl starts right before the kiddos' bedtime, so I will miss some of it...but that's okay, I love the way the kiddos pat our face as they begin to fall asleep.
As for the highlight of the week, it could be all the smiles the kiddos gave this week, or being able to manage dinner and bedtime by myself (because C had to work), but I think the highlight of my week just happened. I am happy to say that my wife just now flirted with me on the elevator as we were coming back from buying lunch...I am still beaming.
This morning we met an out-of-town friend for breakfast, really early, since he's in town for a conference. It was really fun
Tonight we're doing P90X, since we skipped it this morning to go out, and we'll probably watch some Torchwood.
Tomorrow I'm leaving for Morgantown around 6am. Kinda nervous about driving there and back by myself, but I know it will be fine. I burned some CDs this moring so I have podcasts and music to listen to. I'm going to visit a friend and we don't have set plans - just celebrating our birthdays (hers was Jan 25, mine is on Wed.), hanging out and having fun. Driving back around 2:00 or 3:00 on Sunday. When I get home we might go to a movie, since we don't care about football and the commercials sucked last year.
I'm sure Jen is going to work all weekend, since I won't be here to nag/guilt her into taking Sunday off.
Oh, highlight of my week! On Wed. night I took dinner over to a friend who is about to come back to work after extended maternity leave, and I got to hold the baby for a long time, and then we had time to sit and catch up after he went to bed. Up until a few weeks ago he was kind of a nightmare (colic/acid reflux, congestion, then acid reflux again, and a terrible sleeper), so it was really nice to see him calm and healthy, and to see my friend looking much less frazzled and miserable.
Today cleaning and trying to organize the house while its empty (DD's are at their dad's). Tonight my parents are bbq-ing and I get to spend time with my 1 month old niece...yay!
Tomorrow not sure, I have homework to do and maybe T and I can squeeze in a mini date night before she heads to work tomorrow night. Sunday no plans
Highlight: all of us going on our family bike ride around our neighborhood. It was so nice to get some exercise and have fun at the same time.
Today - I am 'officially' 5 weeks pregnant and I booked my first prenatal/ ultrasound appointment!! YAY!!! and I told my supervisors which seemed a bit premature but I am really close to them and they would find out if 'something' went wrong. They squealed and told me to start working from home 2 days a week and are already making plans regarding my position (transitioning to part time at home) after the baby is born. Which is great because... I want to sleep. It is all I want to do all day long. I am in bed by 7:30 every night. Tired doesn't even begin to describe how I feel. I actually cried yesterday, stuck in traffic, because I was so tired (and I had to pee). So being told I only have to commute 3 days a week, was enough to make me want to cry and..you guessed it... take a nap BUT I have a fabulous wife who has been slaving around the house/on the roof, moving all this damned snow and she deserves more than 8pm bedtime so I am going to muster the energy and go out to dinner (providing we are home by 8:30
Tomorrow - we are going to Newport to watch a women's college basketball game. After, we are supposed to go to a party to celebrate my cousins adoption becoming legal a year ago but I am bursting at the seams, ready to tell the world but in really, I want to hold off on the 'non-essentials' (aka - extended family) just yet. They all know how long we have been trying and will be over the moon. I just.. well, I think it is best to wait or we'll have to dig it up at every family function.
Sunday - K will watch the Superbowl and I will...nap.
Highlight - getting our beta numbers back. I didn't implant until day 11 and so when I went in on day 15 for my blood test, I wasn't at all surprised it was in the 100's but the nurses freaked me out it was totally unwarranted, though, because about 30 hours later they more than tripled!!
Our best friends' daughter's 2nd birthday party is tomorrow... so we'll be heading to that. As long as the weather isn't too horrible that is!! Ugh, so sick of winter.
Sunday is the Superbowl... so we'll watch that, probably just the two of us this year.
Highlight of the week: Gwen slept from 7:45 to 10:30, then until 5am, and with us in bed until 6:15 on Wednesday... and last night she slept from 7:45 to 4:45!! Then in bed with us until 6:10ish. It was amazing!!!
