Success after IF

Favorite books for little ones?

I am in the market for new books, I can recite all of D's book with my eyes closed at this point. so am looking for suggestions.

D likes ones where he can open stuff up and interact, kind of like Dinosaur's Binket (if you are familiar)

Does anyone have good books for a 1 year old with a short attention span, books with long drawn out sentences are not his speed, he needs the page turning in 10 words or less LOL

A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Re: Favorite books for little ones?

  • This was Cal's favorite book at that age (and he still likes it!):

    Cat, by Matthew van Fleet

It has touch-n-feel, flaps, and tabs to pull!

Childhood cancer (DH) + chemo + radiation = 0 sperm.
    LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
    LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
    Life is beautiful!

That is actually exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the suggestion, keep them coming ladies.

  • I'm not sure what you already have, but DD's current favorites are:

    Anything by Karen Katz

Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs by Byron Barton (not interactive, but I say "ouch" when touching the spikes or teeth and she loves it)

Anything by Sandra Boynton (but especially Personal Penguin)

No No, Yes Yes and Yummy Yucky by Leslie Patricelli (again, we make them interactive and she loves telling the baby "no no" or "ucky")

She also loves the Fisher Price Little People lift-the-flap books which are really good for vocabulary development (not so much for reading purposes)
