praise the lord for steroids

DS has croup and we started a 3 day steroid yesterday and even just after the one dose yesterday it made for a better night last night then it was wednesday night/thursday morning when he came down with croup. I'm so ready for my lil guy to be back to normal and for us to all sleep through the night. Those of you who've had a kid wiith croup did you notice a big change after the steroids?

    We haven't had croup yet (knock on wood) but glad Jack is feeling better!  Hope he's 100% soon so you guys can get some sleep!

    We did not have the croup, but had RSV and DS was wheezing really bad.  A shot of prednisone and a breathing treatment improved his breathing quick enough in the doctors office that prevented us from going to the hospital.

    We also did the 3 days of prednisone and noticed a big difference in a day.  By the third day his wheezing was almost completely gone.

    Hope Jack is feeling better soon!

    When J had it and go steriods the cough did seem to go away in about 3-5 days but then came the cold portion that lasted a good 7 days which was followed by 7 days of loose/runny poop (which led to horrible diaper rash). She was sick for a solid month all told, it was horrible! Thanfully it was in the summer so we could still get out and get some fresh air. I hope Jack has an easier time with it.
