Some people say 12 weeks, some say 13 weeks 3 days (40/3) and others say 14 weeks (I guess this one is because you're not actually pregnant the first two weeks of pregnancy). I think 13.3 is the most common cut-off on TB.

It's 12 weeks, if you go by the development of the baby. That is when all systems/organs have been developed. Then 3rd Tri start at 27 weeks, because developmentally that is when the baby would be able to survive outside of the womb.
But if you go by the gestational philosophy, it's 13 weeks 3 days for 1st Tri, and the 3rd Tri starts at 26 weeks 3 days.
The developmental approach seems more accurate to me, but I still go by the gestational, because that seems to be the norm.
