Re: Friday check-in!

  • 5w0d pregnant & 19m6d pp! Feel good (albeit stuffed up and sniffly), but anxious to hear back from my bloodwork.

Weekend plans: date night tonight! Second blood draw tomorrow, and then Superbowl with family on Sunday. Can't decide who to root for.

Baby splurge: a fancy stroller, like a Bumbleride.

Wedding splurge: a dress (shocker). I was helping my SIL's BFF look for dresses the other day and came across these two: LOVE and LOVE. Yes please. And this one.

  • 1) 10w6d, feeling pretty good - still stuggling with m/s some days, but most days I feel pretty good.

    2)  DH & I might head up to Indy to BBB to get our stroller.  Our parents gave us some $$ for Christmas, and told us that we had to spend it on something that we wanted (not bills, etc).  We plan on getting our stroller and showing it to the when they get back from vacation (in two and a half weeks - I'm waiting forever!).

    3) Because of this money from my parents, I think we're splurging on our stroller.  I think we're getting an UPPAbaby Vista.

I would spend more money on flowers for my wedding if I could do it again.  My bouquet was tiny and I was really dissapointed with it.

  • Where and how?  cd4?  good, but tired and worn out

Weekend plans? nada really,  hoping to find something out of the house to do.  Dh has the flu and I want myself and K to stay far away so we don't get it.

What's one baby item you'd splurge on if you could afford it? Not really sure

And/or, what's one wedding item you'd spend more money on if you could go back?

  • Where and how?  almost 14 weeks PP.  Good.

Weekend plans? Nothing really.  Hanging out with the in laws probably.

What's one baby item you'd splurge on if you could afford it? nanny.  :-)  At least for at night b/c Sam isn't sleeping through the night and it's getting old.  I'm tired.

And/or, what's one wedding item you'd spend more money on if you could go back?
honeymoon.  My husband's brother and sister gave us a week in Vegas as our wedding gift which was awesome/generous but if money wasn't an issue, I would have gone to Italy.

  • CD 22, I believe.  Feeling fine. A little sneezy.  I hope the flu isn't on it's way back.

Isabella is 18 months on Sunday!  We're having pictures done at Target to appease the grandparents.  We'll have a natural light session around her 2nd (OMG!) birthday.

Baby- A really nice, comfy chair for the nursery and I fully intend to for the next baby.  Oh, or maybe a cleaning service.  Not necessarily baby-related, but I'd sell it that way in my proposal to DH. ;)

Wedding- A day of coordinator.  Would have made my life much easier.

  • Where and how?
12w1d pg - exhausted after a long week.  Toddler + funeral = disaster.

    Weekend plans?
Laundry, cleaning the pigsty we're living in, church and a superbowl party

What's one baby item you'd splurge on if you could afford it? And/or, what's one wedding item you'd spend more money on if you could go back?
Baby - this time around I'll probably buy a nicer stroller.  I really loved the Maclaren we had for Olivia, but I want one with a few more bells and whistles for #2.

Wedding - Honestly, I don't know.  Probably wedding party gifts?

  • Where and how? 14 weeks PP. Feeling pretty good.

Weekend plans? LO has to go to the dr today. He has some sort of rash, poor thing. Tmrw I am going with one of my best friends to help her register at BRU. It's pretty exciting to be the 'expert'!!! Sunday is all things football and chili in my house!!!

What's one baby item you'd splurge on if you could afford it? BRU at Christmas had a baby bath tub that was awesome. It had a detachable shower head, jacuzzi jets, etc. it would have made for some cute pictures!

And/or, what's one wedding item you'd spend more money on if you could go back?
honeymoon. We went away for a few days close to home. It was nice and honestly I was so tired I couldn't have enjoyed much more. But, I would love to take a 2nd honeymoon somewhere tropical!!

  • 11dpo-ish, feeling pretty good.

Tonight DH and I are going to Shula's for Devour Downtown and my mom is watching Leah.  Tomorrow, IDK.  Sunday we are going to a friends for the Superbowl, we'll see how long we get to stay w/ Miss Leah's schedule.

Baby - I'm going with the crowd on this and saying a nice stroller (probably a double since we will likely have #2 while Leah is still strollerable).  I'm just seeing with one, how a decent stroller to stick both kids, or kid and infant seat, is going to be so needed to be able to use my hands to do anything at all and keep them contained!

Wedding - A bigger reception venue, we liked the venue but our 200 guests definetly maxed out the place.

  • 1. 14 months pp. feeling fine other than this wierd stomach thing that the dr. thinks is acid reflux...wish that would go away!

    2. test driving new cars

    3. Wedding: I was incredibly disappointed in our photographer! If I could do anything differently it would be spend more on a photographer and less on dinner and band

Baby: I would love to have had a comfy glider!

  • 1. 37 weeks pregnant

    2. Hopefully get some errands run tomorrow. I need to pick up a birthday present for my mom and buy some last-minute baby items. Sunday we're having brunch with my parents then having a few people over to watch the Superbowl. Now that we have the home theater, we have become very popular!

    3. A year ago I may have said a nanny, but now I am really glad Jocelyn goes to her daycare. She learns so much and I'm really happy with her social skills. I'd love to have a BOB dualie since I love our single so much. Otherwise I can't think of anything baby-related I'd splurge on. I wish we had spent the money for a live band at our wedding.

  • Where and how? AF. Feeling happy because it's the weekend. Tonight we have a date at Coco's Bistro, one of my favorite restaurants. It's part of Michael's Valentine's Day gift to me and then I'm making him dinner Saturday night.

Weekend plans? See above :) Other than that, quality time with my husband! It's just us this weekend and our last few days together for the next few months.

What's one baby item you'd splurge on if you could afford it? And/or, what's one wedding item you'd spend more money on if you could go back? Wedding item - I would have loved to have transportation for guests & an even better photographer.

  • 1.  almost 2 years 1 month pp and almost 2 months pp.  I haven't gotten AF yet.  I feel good now that I'm back to work and Joslyn is sleeping through the night for the most part.  I'm definitely more rested.

    2.  I'm in Chicago at my dad's house to help him out b/c he had surgery a couple of weeks ago.  It's hard traveling with the 2 girls and without DH definitely.  It's nice to be home though and I get to see my good friends and my dad and sister!

    3.  Baby item--a really nice double stroller.  I can't see myself spending a lot on one b/c I really don't use the stroller that often.  But, of course it would be nice to have a good one for when I actually do use it.  Wedding item--Looking back now, I wish I would have gotten a nicer dress!  I didn't know at the time that my dress was going to be the most common of the year and it annoys me now haha...

  • Where and how?

Almost 21m pp and 24w pg.  Kind of a sad day today.  We're having an office meeting this morning and I know we're getting bad news about my boss's cancer treatment.

    Weekend plans?

We're sending Tyson to my parents' for a while on Saturday so we can make some real progress on the nursery.  Other than that, we're going to BIL's on Sunday to watch the Superbowl.

What's one baby item you'd splurge on if you could afford it?

A Bumbleride Indie Twin.  I love my Indie and I'm pretty sure I'd love the Twin too, but at over $650, I doubt it will happen.

And/or, what's one wedding item you'd spend more money on if you could go back?

My photographer, hands down.  Mine sucked and I still hate my wedding photos to this day.  I wish I would have gone with the photographer I wanted instead of the one my mom wanted me to hire.

  • 1. Mirena, 18mths and 3mths pp.  TIRED!  Our house has been infested with snotty coughing mess.

    2. Scott's Birthday is Monday so we are going out on Saturday, pending everyone feels better.

    3. A FULL TIME NANNY/HOUSEKEEPER!

I loved everything about my wedding, so I think I would spend more to have more people attend, we had to cut some people I wish we could have invited.

  • Where and how? 1st week of pills, feeling fine.  Weekend plans? Um...well, not sure.  We'll probably just lay low since Mads is still running a temp. What's one baby item you'd splurge on if you could afford it? • 1.  CD14 and hoping for some good baby-making action this weekend.  Feel pretty good!

    2.  I'm actually really excited about this weekend...our really good friends from Indy are coming to visit!!!  DH and I were the MOH and BM in their wedding and they have a little boy now.  Should be a really fun weekend, I'm so excited to see some friends.  Hoping that my friend and I can sneak out for a pedi and we have a sitter tomorrow night so the four of us can go to dinner.  Sunday, my sister and her dh are coming over for the super bowl.

    3.  baby item?  definitely a better stroller.  our's is pretty nice, but I can't steer one handed, which can be a pain if I want to chat on the phone or hold a drink.  and maybe a vidio monitor, although that could possibly make me crazy, watching the little one.

wedding item?  i think it would have to be overall decor.  I loved my reception flowers so not that, but the linens and chairs we used were a compromise and looking back, just didn't "fit" our awesome venue.

  • 20w6d!!  Feeling very good.

    Weekend plans: babyfree weekend!!!!

Splurge? I'd treat both boys to super cute clothes that I can't afford and then hire Bobbi & Mike to do family pictures in a field.

Wedding item - definitely more awesome pictures.

Where and how? CD 11. Meh. Happy that it is the weekend, hoping no more trips to the ER!

Weekend plans? Not much. Probably some cleaning and maybe a night out with DH, if I can pull him away from his video games...grrrr...

What's one baby item you'd splurge on if you could afford it? And/or, what's one wedding item you'd spend more money on if you could go back? Baby item: a kicka$$ stroller. Wedding: hands-down, the photographer. I hated ours.

  • Where and how?

31w5d Feeling all right.  Battling back pain and ankle swelling.  My legs seem to fall asleep a lot faster nowadays.

    Weekend plans?

I'm coming into work tomorrow because we're so backlogged from the storm this week and everyone being out. DH and FIL are going to be painting the baby's room tomorrow, so I'd just be in the way anyway.  Sunday, we're going to my IL's to watch the Super Bowl.

What's one baby item you'd splurge on if you could afford it? And/or, what's one wedding item you'd spend more money on if you could go back?

Hmmm...I really don't know on either.  Oh, I think I'd buy this $500 glider I saw at a baby store.  It was so comfy.

As far as the wedding...I really don't know.

  • Where and how? 23 w 2 d.  Baby is moving like crazy, I can see my belly move from the outside now.  DH and I watch every night before bed.

Weekend plans? Brunch with my parents and shopping

What's one baby item you'd splurge on if you could afford it? And/or, what's one wedding item you'd spend more money on if you could go back?  baby: a custom designed nurserywedding: my necklace that I wore.  I just got a cheap one from Claire's that was a fake diamond-looking stone on clear wire.  If money were no object, I'd have also done more flowers at the church and reception hall.  We did all that ourselves.

  • Where/How
32w0d. Feeling sore. I don't remember my back hurting this much last time... but I also didn't carry a 30 pound toddler around either!

    Weekend Plans
I'd like to do something fun with Paige this weekend, before our worlds get turned upside down with a new baby! I just wish there was something fun to do around here... So, no idea.

    Baby Splurge
A really great, expensive double stroller. Or actually, an SUV.

    Wedding Splurge
I loved our wedding and wouldn't have changed much about it. I probably would have hired a more expensive photographer. I love the girl that we hired, and our pictures are good enough, but it seems like photography had advanced SO much since then. But at the time, all of the local photographers around here took the same "level" of pictures (their samples all looked the same), and our photographer charged less. So, I can't really say that I regret going with her! :-)

  • 1.  11wks, worn out.

    2.  I get the pleasure of working all weekend.  Yippee.  We will probably just hang out at home for the Super Bowl, I'm completely beat after working Fri/Sat night.

    3.  Baby- A super comfy chair and ottoman.   Wedding- We would have gone on a nicer/more relaxing honeymoon.  We went to Vegas which was super fun, but it would have been nice to go somewhere tropical.

  • 1. 9 mo pp.  Also a little blue today, but looking up and trying to accentuate the positive!

    2. I have to chaperone a dance tonight at school, and we're having friends over tomorrow night.  Other than that, the usual: cleaning, grading, running errands.

    3. Baby: More in our 529

Wedding: Honeymoon. We loved our cruise, but we played it safe with extras (no massage, didn't drink a lot).  I would have also loved to have splurged on a fun HM wardrobe.

  • Where and how? 6.5ish months PP. Feeling good! Grady's sleep is improving - no longer waking up screaming every hour-and-a-half since his teeth popped through. Thank God!

Weekend plans? I'm hoping for beer and pizza tonight. Tomorrow we'll clean and do laundry in the morning, niece's first bday party in the afternoon, Cheesecake Factory and shopping in the evening. Sunday, no plans other than watching the Super Bowl.

What's one baby item you'd splurge on if you could afford it? Hmmm. Nothing that I can think of! I feel like we have too much crap as is.

What's one wedding item you'd spend more money on if you could go back? Photography, for sure. Our photographer blew. Really bad.

  • Where and how?  29 weeks today.  I feel great!

Weekend plans?  We were supposed to have date night tonight and go out to Fogo de Chao for dinner, but those plans got nixed.  Now,  I think it's just a quiet dinner in with DH and SS.  As for the rest of the weekend - I'll be studying my butt off - class was canceled this week but we still have our exam next week.  It's essentially all self-study and I'm a little nervous about the whole thing.  I need to do really well.

What's one baby item you'd splurge on if you could afford it?  I'm not really sure.  I guess we are "splurging" on 2 Britax convertable seats - one for each car.  Although I don't really see this as a splurge item since need car seats anyway.

And/or, what's one wedding item you'd spend more money on if you could go back?  A different venue and a better DJ.  Our venue was beautiful but the people who owned/ran it were crazy.  And our DJ, well he just plain sucked.  A day of coordinatior would have been nice too.

  • Where and how? 39w pregnant and ready to have this baby!  I accidentally dropped Maya into her crib last night...the night before I was able to lay her down gently but I guess buddy has finally really dropped because I couldn't reach the bottom of the crib!

Weekend plans? I refuse to make any plans at this point even though this little buddy has shown no signs that he is in a hurry to make an exit.  I expect that we'll just be having a quiet weekend at home although I do plan to make insanely unhealthy food to eat during the SB.

What's one baby item you'd splurge on if you could afford it? A new house.  We are living in a 1000sq ft starter home that I never thought we'd have 1 let alone 2 kids in.

What's one wedding item you'd spend more money on if you could go back? A giant umbrella for the state of Indiana so that the damn flood didn't keep half of my guests from getting here.

  • Where and how? 9w5d. Exhausted. Starting to feel thicker around the middle.

Weekend plans? Heading to SIL's to celebrate nephew's bday. He is turning 13! Can't believe he is getting so old.

What's one baby item you'd splurge on if you could afford it? And/or, what's one wedding item you'd spend more money on if you could go back?
Baby- More of a theme/decoration for the nursery.
    Wedding- photographer

  • Right in the middle of AF......lovely. Feeling okay - thankful for the two snow days I had with my family, but also glad to be back at work. Weekend plans - not much. Looking forward to chilling out! Sorry if this is one big paragraph - posting from my iPad. Anyone know how to avoid that? Sara :)

  • 1.  No clue.  No more spotting, wore a tampon twice this week, but it wasn't a full period.  Calling for an appt with new doc next week.

    2.  Shopping with DH tomorrow.  We're going to the Christian discount bookstore, Lowe's, WalMart and Kroger.  Should be a chill day.  Sunday is his bday, so we'll go to church (and he's working the bagel table), then out to eat at Red Robin most likely with his free burger and then climbing all day.  He really wants to climb, so we're going to do that.

    3.  I'd hire a fullout amazing wedding planner instead of having a friend run around like mad to get everything done.  I'd much rather have had her in with me getting ready than out working like mad.  Too bad that would have cost what we spent on the entire wedding!
