Being Induced....right now :(

It is a good thing you ladies put the idea to call my OB in my head...for once I was underreacting. I went to check my BP and it was 140/93 with multiple readings so I called the oncall nurse and she had me check in to L&D. When I got here it was 156/108 and it wouldn't go down. I have trace amounts of protein in my urine but not enough to diagnose pre-e but since my BP wasn't going down they couldn't let me go.
Unfortunately I am still at 1cm 50% effaced so my body isn't in the best condition to start the whole ordeal. They just gave me a cervadil to soften my cervix which is causing me to have contractions about every couple minutes, which they said it a positive sign that I may not even need pictocin.
I am scared shiitless right now but keeping it together.
I wasn't prepared for this at all.

With my DS, I went in to my normal appt one day and my BP was just as high with trace protein in my urine (and insane swelling). They kept me there and induced me right then and there.
I was 2cm/50%, they broke my water and started pit at the same time. It was brutal. Got an epi a few hours later. All in all, it took about 10 hours until DS was born.
You can do this and just think of your baby that you will be able to hold in your arms not long from now!

Ahh... good luck to you both! I'm sure you have no reason to be scared, everything will be fine and in a short time you will be holding you're little bundle of joy. Please keep us updated.

I fear I'll be in the same spot as you next week (bp 130/86 this week, but no other major signs, so I'm taking it easy), but know that you've chosen what's best for your health and your baby.

It was funny though because I have been saying that he can come anytime he wants and I was ready for it and then once we got here I really just wanted him to stay in there and was more then willing to go past my EDD. Induction is something my OB and I never discussed since I had a very healthy PG so if it wasn't for this site I may have had NO idea about anything.
Good luck! Keep us posted. I think I said it in another post but I'm in a similar situation. 0cm dilated and 50% effaced for 2 weeks but my bp keeps going up. I had my 2nd NST yesterday as I've now had a headache for 2+ days. NST showed everything was good with the kiddo and my bp went back to normal during the test but still waiting on bloodwork results from my dr. If there are any signs of pre-e I'm sure she'll have me come in to start Cervadil asap, although it doesn't seem like my body is quite ready to push a baby out.
Anyway, can't wait to hear more about how it's going!!
