Losing the Baby Weight ...

I just posted this on 6-9 and someone recommended this might be a good place for help. I didn't even know this board existed ... Anyways ...

I have decided I really need to lose this last amount of baby weight. I was 115 pounds pre-prego and worked out 5 days a week but since having DD I haven't been able to get below 130 and haven't made it to the gym once. It's horrbile. NONE of my pants fit me and only some of my shirts do. I just went back to work and I am realizing I have nothing to wear, and of course I don't want to buy a whole new wardrobe. Plus I just feel overall crappy about myself. Yes, I am throwing my own personal pity party right now :(

I have been walking a lot, but that is just not cutting it and there is no way I could make it into the gym. I was thinking of buying Jillian's 30 Day Shred. I see a lot of you are doing it on here .. How do you like it? Thoughts or other suggestions?

Re: Losing the Baby Weight ...

  • Hi, I'm not doing the 30 Day Shred but am doing a different program called ChaLEAN Extreme.  It's a 90 day program, by the same producers of P90X, and is a strength training program.  The workouts are around 30-45 mins long so they don't take that long, and you don't need a bunch of bulky equpiment to workout - resistance bands will do just fine!

I have an ongoing review of my experience on my blog, but here's a review from when I first started: https://coachkarimoore.blogspot.com/2011/01/chalean-extreme.html

Good luck, and if you have any questions I can help. :)

  • When I first started pp, I did Leslie Sansone's walkaerobics-- you can do 2, 3, 4, o5 even 5 miles and the 5 mile one took an hour.  That really helped and it gave me a good workout-- you can get them at Target.  I lost all of my baby weight in about 10 weeks (I gained 40 lbs but like you was like 100 lbs before I got pregnant and the extra weight was really noticeable on my small frame) using her DVDs and jumping rope/lifting in the basement.  I have a TV down there and I would jump rope during the show, do sit ups during the commercials, jump rope during the show, do bicep curls during the commercial, etc.  Hope that helps, good luck and hang in there!

  • If you are determined you can find time to work out. I work a 48 hour work week - four twelve hour shifts. I run on the treadmill 3 days a week and go to Zumba class twice a week and also ride my horse 1-2 times a week.

Sometimes I throw in 30DS or another program off of fitness tv on our On Demand.

    GL!
