Recommend your white noise machine!

I think we are going to have to try a white noise machine.  LO loves the sound of water running and the hair dryer.  I saw several at BRU but none that had a water sound and a white noise sound.  Any recommendations?  Thanks!

  • We just run a small fan in his bedroom for white noise.  Works well, and it was cheap and easily replaceable! :)

  • We have this one in both girls rooms.  https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=14643125

We usually use the Ocean sound.

  • We use the travel size Sleep Sheep. It runs for 22 or 45 minutes then shuts off. I think it has 4 different noises. We love it. I would recommend the travel size over the biggie because it is easy to throw in a suitcase or diaper bag if you need. Also, there is a free iPhone app called Naturespace the we sometimes turn on for him. GL!

  • We have one that is from Brookstone that my mom had and didn't want anymore...it's got like 6 sounds or so and one is white noise. It's compact enough that it's easy to throw in the bag to take when we travel. I'm getting another for DC #2.

This. But the projector quit working, so we just use the sound thing - it runs all the time, and lately, I'm lucky if it doesn't knock me out, too, when I'm rocking Wesley before bedtime.

  • We have a Dex Baby Brand (I think) one from BRU. It was like $20 and it works just fine. We use the ocean sound with thunder mixed in.

  • M sleeps with a fan in her room for white noise, as do I! I never go anywhere without our fans- I guess it's bad that I am totally dependent on it, but I love me some white noise.

I am so the same way!  I grew up with a fan for white noise, and now I can't sleep without it!

Me too. I keep a fan in my trunk for this reason! :-)

I might have to try this.  Do you keep it on low?  I'm worried it would get too cold in her room?

I don't typically point it directly towards her bed, unless it's hot in there. I'll either point it away, or point it towards the ceiling and have it oscillate. I like that it circulates the air around the room.
