Car Seat Inspections

Has anyone already had their car seat inspected?  I thought that it was as simple as just bringing it to your local police station, but, from what I have been reading, there are only a select few inspection stations. If you could provide any information on where you had your car seat inspected - it would be much appreciated!  Thank you!
