Update on to amnio or not to amnio

Well I've gone about a week now without sleep thanks to RLS and now I have 4+ pitting edema almost up to my knees and my blood pressure has spiked again.  So today the doctor said we are doing the amnio Monday and baby HOPEFULLY Wednesday!!!  I'm so excited I was hoping to go early but when they said it was up to me before to decide on the amnio I didn't wanna say yes and risk stuff but now I actually have medical concerns so feel okay with going ahead with it!

    Just curious...What are they looking for and why are they doing an amnio so late in your pregnancy and you are going to deliver on Wednesday???

    Lung Maturity.   My hospital's policy is they won't deliver before 39 weeks without an amnio unless you naturally go into labor.  I was scheduled for a 39 week csection but they wanna bump it up to 37 weeks 3 days.

    I was induced at 37 weeks with both my LO's.  I had an amnio on both and it is super easy.  I was more worried about the amnio than the L&D!

    Oh wow.  I had an amnio done as well.  And while I wouldn't say it was a piece of cake, I was glad I had it done.  I hope you get the results you are looking for and I hope your Wednesday delivery goes well.  Good luck!
