Parenting after 35

Australia

We finally got the ball rolling on moving to Australia.  Last week work had us jumping through all the hoops.  DH and I had physicals, blood draws, psyche exams, orientation type meetings, and lots of paperwork to fill out.  Now I have a DVD to watch, take L for her physical, and try to figure out what we need to take with us and what still needs to be bought.

It looks like we'll be moving around the middle of April.  I wish we could push it off about a  month so our families could see L for her first birthday.  I don't see that happpening though.  (My family is coming to visit a few months after we move so we can celebrate with them when they visit.)

Keep your fingers crossed for us!  DH is stressing already.  The next two months will be interesting.  Stick out tongue

Re: Australia

  • WOW! DH's coworker just moved back home to Australia. i must have missed earlier posts, but that sounds so exciting. Is it a temporary assignment or is going to be permanent?  And a psyche exam? That is pretty intense. I used to work in relocation for a major computer company and we never did psyche exams for our relocating employees - but in retrospect, maybe we should have Wink!

That's why we had the psyche exam. Stick out tongue

We'll be there 3-5 years.  We found out it might happen around Thanksgiving.  We just go the official go ahead a few weeks ago and had to start the hoop jumping last week.

L will be going to preschool in the Outback.  Her first words just might be "G'day Mate!"  (Said with an Aussie accent.)
