Washing/sterilizing pacifiers

I'm a little embarassed to admit this, since Jonah is 14 months old today, but I don't know how to wash pacifiers. When he was still taking a bottle, I sterilized them every couple days (or more frequently, if needed) when I sterililzed the bottles. Now that he's been off bottles for a couple months, I've struggled with how to wash them. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I have a container that is made of netting that we used to wash nipples and pump parts in the DW. I used it for pacifiers as well and it worked just fine.

Where did you get it? Was it specifically made for the bottle parts and whatnot, or was it something else entirely?

If it's an "in-between" kind of clean, I just use hot water + dish soap. (I wash my hands first, then I just use my hands in the hot soapy water to wash the pacifier)...then rinse well.

I have a dishwasher basket that I use as well and will toss them in there when we run it.

You can also just put the ring of the pacifier over one of the "spokes" (or whatever they're called) on the top rack of the dishwasher.

We have dishwasher baskets from target, I forget the brand though. We throw the pacis and bottle parts (and now sippy cup straws) all in those and run them through. The baskets are in the same aisle as nipples and pacis.

I do this, and then sterilize occasionally in one of those microwave sterilizer bags.

I heard something random about dishwasher soap being super toxic (they probably just meant before washing, not after), which freaked me out, so I don't wash his stuff in the dishwasher anymore Embarrassed

We used the munchkin dishwasher baskets... when they started getting too gunky, I pitched them and bought new ones.

We put ours in boiling water for a few mintues every month or so. It's important to boil the water first and then take it off the heat source and put the pacis in. If you boil the water with the pacis in it, the plastic can degrade.
