both boys are sick. Cade never acts sick when he's sick, he just has a cough, runny nose, and runny eye.
Logan on the other hand. I don't know what to do. He was up every 1-2 hours last night, screaming bloody murder. It was awful. He took a long nap earlier and I was glad, hoping he would "sleep some off"...then he woke up and started the screaming again. He has a runny nose and cough. He feels warm to me but no fever is registering.
What the heck can I do?? Nothing I do is making him happy. He finally just conched out again.
He also isn't wanting to nurse too much and is spitting up quite a bit. He's still wetting diapers and such (I keep checking his soft spot to make sure it isn't sunken)
If tonight is anything like last night we will be heading to the pedi in the am.
Re: omg I'm dying over here
Ick. We just got through both girls being sick at once and it was awful. CA Baby makes a Cold & Flu line of bubble bath & spray that we really liked. I also found this Simply Saline pressurized saline spray in a can ... I'd shoot that in L's nose, use the booger sucker, and then nurse her. It helped keep her sinuses clear so that she was able to nurse better.
We're JUST now getting back into a decent sleep pattern. Horrible horrible horrible. I hope the boys are feeling better soon!
Tales of the Wife
If he's not sleeping and overtired I would probably give him a dose of Tylenol before bed in addition to all of the above suggestions to help him sleep, as well as some vapor rub. His throat might be sore as well.
Hope they're feeling better soon!
Big E (6) & Little E (2.5)
wet a towel in warm water and wrap it around his bare chest. if you can stand to 'waste' the water, run the shower and let the room get steamy while you do the towel wrap too.
vaporub on the feet with cotton socks helped Noah best when he was little. and i put breastmilk in his nose too.
thanks ladies. we took a luke warm shower (he finally showed an oh so slight fever of 99.6*). Then we just walked around the house and I gave him some tylenol and he turned back into my happy baby boy.
He nursed well and went to bed perfectly fine.
::fingers crossed:: it was some kind of 24 hour thing!
