I EBF, and I have Celiac's Disease- which means I cannot eat gluten (wheat, oats, rye and barley) I was diagnosed 4 years ago and have gotten really good about supplementing my diet with other carbs/grains. Fast forward to now...
DS was having bad tummy issues and the pedi suggested cutting out dairy to see if it helped...which it has TREMENDOUSLY!! The bad news, dairy was a huge part of my diet...I am worried that I am not getting enough calories in to keep up my supply. The past 3 day he's been nursing every 2-2.5 hours, he used to go 3-4. I know it could be something else, but I'm worried that he's eating more frequently because my milk is less sustaining or something?
I have been consistently losing weight since he was born, I am now nearly 10 lbs. less than I was pre pregnancy, which i'm not complaining about! I'm just worried about what it might do to my supply...so anyone know what i can add to my diet to make up for the dairy? I'm planning to call my LC tomorrow to see if she has any advice, but i thought i'd jump on here and see if anyone had any advice?
I'm going to XP to breastfeeding board too!
Re: Any one knowledgeable about nutrition?
One of my old friends has an issue like this. She really likes this website: https://www.thewholegang.org/ It is organic, gluten and dairy free.
I don't know much about the nutrition aspect, except to eat lots of meat, fish, and veggies. Dairy free is very hard if you are eating out! Restaurants put butter in almost everything.

I do drink soy milk, and almond milk! Never tried rice milk though...is it good?
ohh thanks for the link, I'll def. check that out!
Yeah resturants are hard with Gluten free, dairy free requests (especially in my small town)...usually the poor waitress just looks at me like, huh? I don't eat out much because of it
I am Celiac and dairy free. My LO and I are both allergic to cow's milk. I get a lot of calories from nuts and nut butters. A typical day for me would be eggs and banana for breakfast; baby carrots and almonds for morning snack; a protien and vegetable for lunch; hummus and celery sticks for afternoon snack and then dinner is similiar to lunch.
I use So Delicious Coconut milk as a substitute for cow's milk. They also have ice cream and yogurt as well as soy products.

They make a chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream that is incredible! I'm pretty sure all their coconut products are GF, DF, and SF. They're expensive but yum!
