XP: how do you clean "surface wash only" plush toys?

I bought DD the Lamaze Firefly this week and want to wash it before I give it to her, but am not sure what to do with it.....feeling the mom brain right now.

    I have always washed plushies, whether it says surface clean only or not. Just put it on a super delicate wash and air dry..I have yet to have a problem doing so. HTH!

    It's it's a simple plush toy [no rattle inside, or electronic parts] I just toss it in the washer anyway. But I'm also one of those people that washes some "dry clean only" clothes.

    i put them in a pillow case and wash them

    Oh, I should add that I work at a dry cleaners, and we do this at the shop as well.

    Just make sure to dry it well since it's hard to tell when the stuffing is really dry and you don't want it growing things.
