I was scheduled for my 3rd c/s on Tuesday, Feb. 1st @ 10am. We went in to get prepped and the OR was backed up, so we had to wait around for what seemed like FOREVER. Finally, we went back and we got the show going. Its funny, for my 3rd, I was SO much calmer. I had some shoulder pain (weird) from all of the action going on down below. That was a new expereince and one I don't want to feel again. The spinal doesn't touch your shoulders! Anyway, my mulitple c/s are due to delivering large babies. We weren't sure how big this guy was, but when my dr. started commenting on his broad shoulders and calling him a "linebacker" I knew we had a good sized little man!
Christian Slade was born at 11:43 am weighing 9 pounds 3 oz. and 20 inches long. He has a head FULL of dark hair which wasn't a surprise because I had heartburn ALL pregnancy!
All is well. He is nursing better than my DDs ever did this early. Its like he knows EXACTLY how wide to open and how to latch on. Nursing still hurts with #3, but it is already feeling better.
We will be discharged tomorrow. I can't wait to get him home because that is a whole new experience...life with a little boy. Our DDs are beside themselves with excitement.
Good luck with all of your babies! See you in 0-3!
