If you established a routine when LO was really young...I'm just curious how strictly you follow the routine as LO gets older?
For instance, we normally do a bath almost every night...tonight we didn't and she had a hard time going down...of course I'm convinced its b/c we didn't do the bath....does this mean we have to do a bath every night until she's 5?

Our routine was never exactly the same and never really noticed an issue with going to bed being easier or harder with those changes.

Yes, but she is flexible. We usually do bath, story, bed. Occasionally she will seem so tired or we are coming in later or something and we will skip the bath. She still does well as long as she gets her story. Maybe you could try inserting story time in between bath and bed so that you can still have routine without always having the hassle of a bath.

We rarely deviate from our schedule. Matt is so ready for bed by the time we are finished, he just knows what to expect. If we go out we may skip the bath if it is late enough but we do everything else.
6:30 dinner
7:30 bath
7:45 book, brush, milk
8:00 bed
We do the same routine still every night:
6:00 dinner, then bath, then cup with milk on my lap with stories/books and then bed. She goes down at 7:00 very easily so we won't be changing it.
