This weekend I have two girls celebrating a birthday!! T is turning 9 and K going to be 3! Saturday we're having some of T's friends over to do a "mini-makeover/spa" day. So far we plan on doing nails with nail art (I've got nail art pens), letting the girls do each others hair (with their own hairbrushes....I don't fancy sharing those
), "gourmet" cupcakes, strawberries with chocolate yogurt dip....
With the snacks, doing nails and hair, would this take up 2 1/2 hours?? There's going to be max 5 girls plus T. T also thought about doing before and after photos...but I'm not sure if I'll have time to print them. Any ideas? These girls are 9 years old and fourth grade.
At least K is easy. Family is coming on Sunday at lunch time for cake and coffee and such. Not wild there, the cousins entertain each other!! I would normally do both parties (school friends and family) back to back, but I'm a bit tired...and with my parents coming to town for a few days layover it's going to be nuts!
Re: Ideas needed!
I think the 2 1/2 hours will be perfect based on experiences I have had with girls this age and the activities you have planned. On the photos, could you print them out later and send them with thank you cards?
Sounds like a lot of fun!
We did this same thing with my niece when she turned 9! I did 'glamor shots' after the makeovers and printed them while the girls were eating and doing presents, but we had my sister here to keep the festivities going so I could just focus on the pictures.
Do you have PhotoShop? I did the template below for the party and then just dropped each girls picture into it, changed the name and hit print. It was super easy and they loved it!
That's probably plenty of activities, if you're having cake and food, too.
But you could also get super cheap cute foam flip-flops at Michaels and have them decorate them with foam flowers, etc. Would go with the pedi thing.
It seems like that would take 2.5 hours, but I don't really know
Good luck!

Good luck and have fun!
How about printing up the before and after pictures and including them in the thank you cards? You can print them side by side on one sheet.
Happy Birthday Girls!
That sounds like such a fun party!! No idea about the timeframe, but I like the brush idea. You could make little gift bags with some polish, files, brush, comb, face poofs, a little thing of lotion/soap, etc.
I think I would burn a disk, rather than or in addition to printing, for each child with before/afters of the girls (either all of them or just add the picture of the girl) and some fun shots of the pictures of the party. You could prep the case with a cute cover/disk label sticker of the spa party so you only need to burn the disks. If you do decide to do them all the same, it would be really quick, if you do them all specifically for each girl I still think it would be really quick. Then add it to the little spa bag to take home.
Have fun!
Awesome ideas ladies!! Yes, I have Photoshop, so I could do before/after shots in a template. Can't print on my printer, I bought it specifically for high capacity document printing, it's not the greatest for photos. For how many pics it messes up, it's cheaper, faster and easier to run down to the local pharmacy to print them...I'll just send them to school with T on Monday.
Love the mud mask idea, I can grab those at Walmart. I popped into the dollar store to see what they had, and grabbed bath bombs, bath pouffes (sp?), whipped spa hand lotion, lip smackers and Hershey's Kisses. Came out to about $25...I would love to do a bit more with the party, but DH was laid off in November, and he only just started his new job Monday, so timing for payroll sucks! To be honest, the kids probably won't even notice, they'll be too busy having fun. And I managed to find the one thing T asked for - puppy mittens!
So we'll see if the house is still standing after Sunday! I'll let you ladies know how it goes! Sigh, time to get into action...parents land in 5 hours.
