30-Day Shredders: What are your results so far?

I've taken a couple of days off every week so I'm only on Day 17 or something like that. I've been doing the L2/3 combo (replacing some moves from L2 with L3 moves to make them harder and avoiding the high-impact moves from L3) and I think I'm really seeing a difference just in the week I've been doing it! Overall, my results are:

No weight loss, though I lost the couple of pounds I gained in the first two weeks

Down 2-3 inches in my waist and an inch in my hips

I can do 20 "real" push-ups in a row now (and 10-15 in the second set before I collapse into "girl" ones)

I'm feeling like the first few weeks of this were just building me up to being able to hang with an intense workout, and now that I'm doing L2-3 Natalie-style, results seem to finally be happening. I'm excited! How's everyone else doing?

Re: 30-Day Shredders: What are your results so far?

  • Honestly not the results I was hoping for. I am on D27 and am also doing a modified version of L2 and L3. I was down 3.3 lbs and now I'm up 1 lb from ny starting weight. I'm frustrated. I did not take measurements so I can't say I've lost inches although I don't notice a difference. My endurance is up which is awesome and I can shovel like nothing else now, but I'm still disappointed. It's not like I'm not trying. DH says that those with more weight to loose might be seeing more results and I'm hoping that's true. I only had 8lbs to loose but now I have 9!! Ahh! I mostly keep up with Natalie and I try my hardest, but man this is frustrating. Although I am pretty sure I am having issues losing weight due to a thyroid condition I developed during pregnancy. I have an appt on the 15th so hopefully I will get some answers!

  • I am doing great so far.  First off, I know I am stronger.  I feel stronger and I can do more reps than ever before...especially the push-ups like you mentioned.  I can visually see more definition in my arms and my calves.  As for the numbers, I am down 5 pounds (I am on D 23).  As for the measurements, that's where I really see the change.  I measured myself at the halfway point (D15) and there was a major decrease in my thighs and waist.  I am trying to hold out until D30 to do another set of measurements even though I am tempted to sneak a peak.  I know the numbers are important, but even more important to me is the fact that I feel terrific and healthy.
  • I am on D18 L2.  I do my measurements again on Monday but as of last Monday, I am up 1 pound from when I started but down a total of 4.5 inches and down 1.4% in bodyfat.  My main area of inches lost are in my waist and legs.

I'm not exactly happy with those stats but I have to look at the bigger picture.  I have SO much more endurance and strength.  I look much more toned and I feel more confident.

I have not changed anything with my diet so maybe I'd see more results if I did that.

When first starting the Shred - I about died during every workout. I was working with Anita most of the time.  At the end of level 1, I was right alongside Natalie.  Now being on level 2, I'm working inbetween them but will soon be mastering everything.

I am so glad I did this and am really proud that I have stuck with it.  I haven't missed a day yet.  I have recommited myself to working out and living a healthier lifestyle.
