Will I ever have an outtie?

My belly button is still an innie. I just recently (within the last week has started feeling "different") but it is still about a half inch deep. I realize I have a long way to go but I think outtie belly buttons are cute and I might be a little disappointed if I don't get one lol.

Anyone else take a long time to get their outtie? Anyone not get one at all?

  • I'm still an innie!  But I had an EXTREME innie before and now you can actually see where it ends lol.

  • With DS I never got an outie.  My belly button got really shallow and was basically flat; seems to be the same this time thus far.

  • Mine never turned into an outie with DS1, but it did get really flat.  It's just about the same this time.

  • Glad to know I am not the only one. I remember some girls in 1st tri saying they had one at like 11 weeks! I was like "wtf?" Theirs must look like Pinocchio's nose now!

  • If I am standing up, I have half an outtie. The top half of by belly button sticks out a bit, but the bottom is still in. It looks more like a frown face lol. When I am sitting or laying, I still have a significant innie, and I only have a week left until my due date.
  • I doubt I'll get one. I had a pretty deep innie before and I'm still fairly small (my mom keeps telling me her coworker looks more pregnant than me by a lot and she's two full months behind me) It's gotten less deep, but I doubt it'll pop out during this pregnancy. If I follow my mom's pattern I'll get bigger with the second kid and that's when I'll get my popped bellybutton

Same here!  I teach 5th grade and the kids love feeling it.  I thought that would drive me nuts, but it just makes me laugh when they feel it and say "ewwwww!"  I wonder why they keep feeling it if it's so gross to them, lol :)

  • I personally reeeally don't want one. So far I still have an innie unless I ate a ton and my stomach is really tight...then it sort of pokes out a bit. I may not get my wish after all...

  • Want mine?  I'm freaked out by it.  LOL!

I never got one with Brendan, and I sported this one by 24 weeks or so.  I have belly button issues to begin with, so this isn't helping...Hehehe

Yeah, I definitely had the same reaction.  I have to stop my students from touching me.  It's NOT ok with me.  Of course, my students are 19-21 year olds, not 10 year olds.

  • mine hasn't popped out yet but it's gotten really shallow the past week or so, i kind of hope it stays in :)

I thought it would bother me, but there are 6 pregnant teachers at my school this year and the kids are VERY interested in everything that changes.  There are two girls that are very fascinated by it all and they're the ones who feel my belly button on occasion.  Earlier along, I used to push their hands away, but I guess I got used to it.  Most of them have pregnant cousins/aunts/etc. so they're used to all of it... more so than I am anyway, lol.  To someone who's not an elementary teacher, I can see how odd that seems.  Before being pregnant, it seemed really odd to me as well how other teachers would let the students touch their bellies.  10 year olds is one thing... strangers in a store is quite another.  I guess I have that "don't touch me" look on my face when I'm out shopping or something because NOBODY has even tried to touch my belly.
