Bugbear is just fine, but MH wants to know why she hasn't pooped yet
today, and I don't have a good answer other than "well, sometimes they
just don't." At what point in an EBF baby's life does not pooping one day become a possibility and not something to worry about?
Re: I'm gonna do it. A poop question.
With Mady, 1 month old. With Declan the only time was after he started solids 3x a day (to help him gain weight since he wasn't) and he was constipated.
As long as she isn't straining excessively and crying, it's normal. They will strain a bit since the poop doesn't just slide out of them, but when they're crying that is when it's bad.
Thanks women! I'll just tell him consensus is that it's normal and she'll poop when she needs to go.
Mother's Day, 2011
I was told around a month. It took about 2 for Ryan but his pedi says that as long as he's not uncomfortable/straining etc then he can be poop-free for a week before calling her.
My FIL asked us EVERY TIME we changed a diaper whether or not he pooped. "What? He didn't poop? Why doesn't he poop? He needs a doctor!" *sighs and inserts spiel about its ok that BF babies don't poop all the time* "It's just not natural. He should poop more!" Whatever.
2011 Reading Challenge
Around 3 months for C.
D pooped several times per day until we weaned at 19 months. Weird kid.
Tales of the Wife
When DS was about a month old he stopped pooping every day...once he went TEN DAYS without a pooping. But when he did, oh boy....I have no words to describe the mess that ensued.
