Infant DayCare in or around: Fountain Vlly, Costa Mesa, Irvine

Is anyone able to recommend a daycare center in the areas above or any surrounding areas? We are starting our search early as I'm only in my first trimester (yes, I'm a planner lol).  We bought a house in Fountain Valley last year and are still familiarizing ourselves with the area.  This is our first child so daycare is a foreign area for us.  We are open to home daycare, center daycare, church daycare, etc.  Also, if you have a pricing structure -- that would be a HUGE help as well.  Thank you!Big Smile

  • Infant day care is really tricky but I highly recommend you check out the Merage JCC in Irvine. It's surprisingly diverse, a very safe and secure building and they have a very nurturing infant staff. It's right by Mariner's Church. It's not cheap-over $1,000/mo-1,200/mo I think but if you break down the hours into 40/hr week it's not too bad actually. Like $8/hr for a really great place.

  • Hi -

This might be too far away, I've been really happy with Bright Star Learning Center in HB. I have 3 kids and my 6-year old (oldest child) started there when she was 2. It is between Goldenwest and Edwards and McFadden and Edinger. It is on a former elementary school site, so it has a great play area, they have a low teacher turnover rate, my oldest daughter was really well prepared for kindergartent, etc. They have eveything from infant care thru after school care.

I don't have a price sheet handy but the rates are typical center rates - and infant is the priciest - goes down as kids get older.

I believe there is also another center at GoldenWest College.

    Congratulations, and good luck!

  • I live in Cost Mesa and my daughter goes to a fantastic in home daycare. The daycare lady?s name is Kelly Kelly and she is just wonderful. Her contact number is (714) 434-4830. She may be full but it?s worth a try.

If that doesn?t work go to this website.

    https://secure.dss.cahwnet.gov/ccld/securenet/ccld_search/ccld_search.aspx

    1. Select the Facility Type to Locate: In home daycare, Child Care Center etc.

    2. Add your zip or street info

    3. Search results

After you get a list call and set up interviews. I would also call the Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Division and ask for a violation reported on the daycare. They tell you everything.  The number is 714-703-2800.

I hope this helps. Its did for me when I was frantically searching.

  • We go to an in-home daycare on the South Coast Metro area.  The owner's name is Cheryl Dison and her number is (949) 292-3234.  They only take 2 infants at a time, so I'm not sure if they have/will have openings when you're ready, but we've been really happy with them so far.
  • Turtle Rock in Irvine is supposed to be great!!! It is pretty pricey $1425 a month!
  • Thank you all soooo very much for the information.  I tremendously appreciate the help!!!!!
