Let me start by saying that this pregnancy is kicking my arse!! I feel emotionally drained...
So I was sent to Miami to see the specialist regarding TTTTS. I get there and the Dr. decides he wants to monitor me for a few days before deciding weather or not to do the laser surgery. The babies where worse than when I left. Baby B was cocooned in his sac. Things to me looked bad. He started measuring my cervix and I noticed it got a tad shorter than a week before. But no big deal still in the normal range. He said he wanted to see me back on Friday and then on Monday. But my flight for home was on Saturday the 22nd. I had to cancel my flight and was penalized and we had to keep waiting to see what would happen. I was a mess. My first appointment was on my Birthday so I was not too happy. Since it was only Tuesday and we weren't due back until Friday MH decided to drive me up to Orlando to celebrate my birthday. We had as much fun as we could considering the reason we where down there. I came back on Friday and still not enough of a bad change for the surgery. Now we are due back on Monday so we are stuck longer than we anticipated to be. I come back on Monday the 24th and somehow the babies got better. Baby B had more fluid and Baby A was doing amazing. The only problem was my cervix got a little shorter again. I was at 2.4. So we went straight to the airport to fly home immediately I was missing DS and my dogs...
So we get home and my next follow up with my MFM is on Thursday the 27th. They needed to finally get my anatomy scan done. So I go in and I tell the tech she needs to measure my cervix and I almost had to insist. SO she measured it and moved onto the scan. Both babies are measuring right on track. Baby B now have 4.5cm of fluid it went up 2 cm since Monday. I was beyond excited. My MFM comes in and tells me I have to go straight to the hospital for monitoring. Looks like I have preterm labor going on... They hooked me up to a machine and a few hours later my Dr. walks in and tells me I need a cerclage and they will do it first thing in the morning. I was a mess and started freaking out. MH came straight from work and brought DS with him.
Morning comes and they start moving me to the OR. I start trembling so bad they can't get the spinal tap in. I finally calmed down and they where able to get it done. The anesthesiologist was great and she helped get me calm. They prepped me and got me on this table. About 20 mins in I felt like I was going to pass out. I hear my MFM ask for an OB to come in and assist. I started feeling pain and started freaking out again. Next thing I know the anesthesiologist says she is giving me something to keep me calm. I got a shot and then I woke up in recovery with MH by my side.
The MFM comes into my room to explain what went on... Turns out my cervix was real soft so when he grabbed it he caused a tear and I started to bleed out. I needed a blood transfusion. MH was beyond pissed off. I had no idea how to feel. He said that the cerclage was placed and that the babies are doing great. I was put on bed rest in the hospital. I needed 2 different antibiotics that where so bad on my veins, I kept needing a new IV. By the 5th IV and 20 something poke I was done. My MFM let me go with out it. I finally got home on Monday and on modified bed rest. My follow up is on Thursday and I am scared shitlesss to go! Thank You Ams for helping me get through this...
